ING Baraka Capital Protected Fund
Making your money work for you

Investment Objective

The Fund aims to give investors 100% capital protection and exposure to key global Islamic equities through an Islamic index portfolio. At the end of the Fund's maturity period, the Fund will return unit holders' initial capital plus returns from the offshore investments, if any.

All investment instruments of the Fund will be Shariah Compliant. Any material changes to the Fund's investment objectives will require unit holders' approval.

Investment Policies and Strategies

The Fund seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing in 3-year Ringgit denominated Islamic zero coupon negotiable instruments of deposits ("ZNIDs"). At inception, the Fund will invest at least 85% of the Fund's assets in ZNIDs which are issued at a discount by a consortium of banks of high investment grade. When the ZNIDs expire in 3 years, the ZNIDs will mature at a value equivalent to the initial capital value.

At the end of the maturity period, the Fund will return 100% of your initial investment amount. If you redeem your investments during the tenure of the Fund, units are redeemed at the current NAV, which may be less than your original investment and/or the NAV at the inception of the Fund. The Fund will only return 100% of the initial capital at the end of the 3-year tenure.

During the tenure of the Fund, the Fund seeks to achieve potential high returns by investing in call options where the underlying assets consist of an actively managed Islamic index and shariah approved fixed income instruments.

i. SGAM Baraka Option

It is designed to outperform the Dow Jones Islamic Market World Index. The SGAM Baraka option will be based on the Islamic concept known as Arbun.

ii. Local Fixed Income Instruments
