UOB Privilege Banking Celebrates Chinese New Year with Customers Consecutive celebration in 13 branches across Klang Valley in one day!
Kuala Lumpur, 18 February 2008 - For the first time ever, United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd [UOB (Malaysia)] today celebrated Chinese New Year with its UOB Privilege Banking customers. Lion dances and auspicious blessings were held in 13 UOB branches across Klang Valley - all in one day!
In midst of wishing the customers a Happy Year of Rat, Mr Chan Kok Seong, Director and Chief Executive Officer of UOB (Malaysia), said, "We are happy to be here today celebrating this auspicious occasion with our valued customers. Chinese New Year is one of the most important festivals for the Chinese community. And, we would like to wish all of our customers celebrating Chinese New Year a prosperous year in 2008!"
How did UOB (Malaysia) manage to reach out to its customers in 13 branches in one day?
There were two lion troupes with its respective branches to visit. One lion troupe covered the Petaling Jaya route (comprising of UOB branches in Klang, Shah Alam, Puchong, Damansara Uptown, Jalan Othman, Jalan Tengah), while another troupe visited branches in Kota Damansara, Kepong, Medan Pasar, Jalan Pudu, Imbi and Jalan Sultan Ismail. Then the two lions converged in the main branch located in UOB (Malaysia)'s head office in Jalan Raja Laut for a mesmerising performance with stunts on tall stilts!
A Chinese New Year celebration will not be complete without everyone's favourite "God of Prosperity". Much to the customers' delight, he "blessed" wealth and prosperity to all around and gave away Mandarin oranges.
