Press Release 2020

UOB Malaysia to operate as normal between 18 and 31 March 2020

Kuala Lumpur, 17 March, 2020 – United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Berhad (UOB Malaysia) wishes to reassure its customers that it will continue to operate as normal during the 14-day Movement Control Order announced by the government.  The Bank remains committed to serving its customers through its branches nationwide. Branches will continue to operate normal business hours, remaining open from Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 4.00pm.

However, to ensure the health and safety of our customers and our colleagues, additional precautionary measures are in place. We will continue to carry out temperature screening across all our branches and ask visitors to complete health declaration forms to enable contact tracing if the need arises. Masks have been provided to all our customer-facing colleagues. We will also increase the frequency of cleaning and sanitisation across our branches and premises. Hand sanitisers are in place for customers and colleagues to use.

We urge our customers to consider the convenience of using UOB Personal Internet Banking, UOB Business Internet Banking Plus and the UOB Mighty app instead of making physical visits to our branches. Customers are also advised to limit face-to-face meetings with their Relationship Managers. If an in-person meeting is necessary, customers are advised to schedule an appointment with their UOB Relationship Manager before visiting the branch.  We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Safeguarding the health and safety of our customers and colleagues remains our top priority. We remain vigilant and assure our customers that we are taking every precaution to help curb the spread of COVID-19.  Should customers require any further information, kindly contact our 24-hour UOB Contact Centre at 03-2612 8121 or email uobcustomerservice@uob.com.my.
