Mighty Secure is a digital security token embedded in your smartphone for convenient authentication of Personal Internet Banking and UOB Mighty transactions without the need for SMS-OTP.

For enhanced security, all open transactions of RM10,000 and above performed via Personal Internet Banking and UOB Mighty must be authenticated with Mighty Secure.

How to Register

     

Step 1

Launch UOB Mighty App
and tap on 'Secure'

Step 2

Tap on 'Set Up Mighty Secure'

Step 3

Login with fingerprint or enter
your Personal Internet Banking
password

 

     

Step 4

Enter your UOB Debit/Credit
Card No. and PIN

Step 5

Upon successful validation,
you will receive an SMS
notification

Step 6

Enter your preferred 6-digit PIN
for Mighty Secure and tap 'Next'

 

Step 7

Registration is completed. Proceed to activate your Mighty Secure*

 

*For enhanced security, you can only activate Mighty Secure after 10 minutes from completion of your Mighty Secure registration. Meanwhile, you can continue to perform online transactions with SMS-OTP.

How to Activate

   

Step 1

To activate, login to your
UOB Mighty, 10 minutes after
Mighty Secure registration

Step 2

Enter the 1-time SMS-OTP
sent to your registered mobile
number and tap 'Next'

Step 3

Mighty Secure will be enabled
upon successful validation

Step-by-step Guide

     

Step 1

Tap on 'Change Mighty Secure
PIN' to change PIN

Step 2

Key in current 6-digit PIN
and new preferred 6-digit PIN

Step 3

Confirmation of successful
PIN change will be displayed

 

If you have forgotten your Mighty Secure PIN, you would need to remove Mighty Secure from your smartphone and register again.

Tap on 'Remove Mighty Secure'

Tap 'Yes' when prompted
to confirm

After logging into your Personal Internet Banking,
the above message will be shown if you have
registered and activated Mighty Secure on your
smartphone

On your Mighty Secure
registered smartphone, you will
get a Push Notification on
Mighty App. Click 'Confirm'
to proceed

Confirmation of successful
authentication will be displayed

If you do not respond to the Mighty App Push
Notification within 60 seconds or click on 'Did not
receive notification', you will need to perform a login
via OTP generated using Mighty Secure

Step 2

You will be prompted to manually key in the OTP
generated by Mighty Secure on your smartphone.
To complete this action, you will need to access the
Mighty Secure function on your smartphone

 

     

Step 3

Tap on 'SECURE' on
Mighty App. Then tap on 'One-Time
Password' to generate OTP. Key in 6-digit Mighty Secure
PIN to proceed.

Step 4

8-digit OTP will be generated
under 'One-Time Password' tab

Step 5

Key in the 8-digit OTP into your Personal Internet
Banking and proceed

 

Once you have login with Mighty Secure, you will have to authenticate all your Personal Internet Banking transactions with Mighty Secure until you end the current session.

   

Step 1

If you are unable to login using Mighty Secure,
you can still login using SMS-OTP. Click on 'Switch
to SMS One-Time Password' to request for SMS-OTP

Step 2

Key in the 6-digit SMS-OTP that is delivered
to your registered mobile number to proceed.

 

If you are not able to access your Mighty Secure registered smartphone or unable to login with Mighty Secure, you can still proceed with SMS-OTP. Once you have login to your Personal Internet Banking with SMS-OTP, you will have to authenticate all your Personal Internet Banking transactions with SMS-OTP until you logout for the session.

If you did not receive the push notification from Mighty Secure, you can still complete your transaction by generating an OTP using Mighty Secure.

receive notification', you will need to perform
transaction via OTP generated using Mighty Secure

Step 2

Verify the transaction details and to confirm the
transaction, look for the 8-digit Challenge Code
provided. You are required to  key in the Challenge
Code into Mighty Secure in order to generate a Code

 

     

Step 3

Tap on 'SECURE' on
Mighty App. Then tap on 'One-Time
Password' to generate OTP. Key in 6-digit Mighty Secure
PIN to proceed.

Step 4

Tap into the 'Transaction Signing'
tab and key in the 8-digit
Challenge Code shown on
Personal Internet Banking

Step 5

An 8-digit Transaction Signing
code will be generated

 

   

Step 6

Key in the 8-digit Transaction Signing code into
Personal Internet Banking and click on 'Authorize'
before the timer expires.

Step 7

Personal Internet Banking will auto refresh and the
transaction status will be shown

During the transaction confirmation page, a push
notification containing transaction details will be sent
to your smartphone registered with Mighty Secure

  1. What is Mighty Secure?
    Mighty Secure is a digital security token embedded in your smartphone for convenient authentication of Personal Internet Banking and UOB Mighty (mobile banking) transactions as an alternative to SMS-OTP.

  1. Are there any charges for Mighty Secure?
    There are no charges for using Mighty Secure.
  1. Why should I register for Mighty Secure?
    Mighty Secure provides enhanced security and convenience to authenticate your banking transactions via Personal Internet Banking and UOB Mighty. With Mighty Secure, you no longer need to wait to receive SMS-OTPs and keying them in.

    For enhanced security, all open transactions of RM10,000 and above performed via Personal Internet Banking and UOB Mighty must be authenticated with Mighty Secure from 19 November 2018 onwards.

 

  1. Who can register for Mighty Secure?
    All UOB customers with Personal Internet Banking or UOB Mighty access and have a registered mobile number with the Bank can register for Mighty Secure.

 

  1. How do I register for Mighty Secure?
    To register for Mighty Secure, download UOB Mighty App from Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Launch UOB Mighty App and tap on Secure. Follow the on-screen instructions to register. You would need your UOB credit/debit card number and PIN to register.

 

  1. Can I still register for Mighty Secure if I don't remember my debit/credit card PIN?
    No, you can’t register for Mighty Secure without your debit/credit card PIN. If you don't remember your debit/credit card PIN, you can reset it as follows:

     

    For Debit Card

    Visit any UOB Branch.

    For Credit Card

    Llogin to Personal Internet Banking  or UOB Mighty or you may call our UOB Call Centre at (603) 26128 121 for assistance.
  1. Why do I need to set up a Mighty Secure PIN?
    Mighty Secure 6-digit PIN is an additional layer of security to identify that you are the authorised person to authenticate Personal Internet Banking and UOB Mighty transactions such as fund transfers, add beneficiaries, change credit card PIN, update personal particulars and change transaction limit requested by you. Mighty Secure PIN is also needed when you launch the Mighty Secure to manually generate One-Time-Password.

 

  1. What if I forgot my Mighty Secure PIN?
    You would need to remove Mighty Secure from your smartphone and register again.

  1. Can I continue to access Personal Internet Banking or UOB Mighty if I do not register for Mighty Secure?
    Yes, you can. However for enhanced security, all open transactions of RM 10,000 and above via Personal Internet Banking and UOB Mighty must be authenticated with Mighty Secure.

 

  1. How do I authenticate online banking transactions using Mighty Secure?
    When you perform a transaction via Personal Internet Banking, you will receive a push notification on the smartphone you registered for Mighty Secure during the confirmation page. Tap on the notification and UOB Mighty will launch with a pop-up on the transaction details. Check and confirm that the transaction details are correct before tapping the “Confirm” button on the pop-up to proceed. Key in your Mighty Secure PIN to complete the transaction.

    If you perform a transaction via UOB Mighty in a Mighty Secure registered smartphone, Mighty Secure will be automatically prompted at the transaction confirmation screen. Check and confirm that the transaction details are correct before tapping the “Confirm” button to proceed. Key in your Mighty Secure PIN to complete the transaction.

 

  1. Why am I not receiving a push notification to authenticate my transactions?
    It may be due to poor network connectivity or you may have turned off notifications for UOB Mighty. If you login via Personal Internet Banking, follow the on-screen instructions on how to generate a One-Time Password (OTP) or Transaction Signing Code to authenticate your transactions via Personal Internet Banking.

     

    For non-financial transactions

    • Launch Mighty Secure app
    • Select “One-Time-Password”
    • Enter the 8-digit One-Time-Password that appears into your Personal Internet Banking screens before the timer expires

    For financial transactions

    • Launch Mighty Secure app
    • Select “One-Time-Password”
    • Select “Transaction Signing” and key in the 8-digit Challenge Code shown on your Personal Internet Banking screen
    • Key in the 8-digit Transaction Signing Code generated into your Personal Internet Banking screens before the time expires

    You will not be able to transact via UOB Mighty if the network connectivity is poor.

 

  1. How do I turn on notifications on my smartphone?

     

    For iOS devices

    • Access Settings
    • Select "Notifications"
    • Select "UOB Malaysia"
    • Turn on "Allow Notifications"

    For Android devices

    • Access Settings
    • Select "Notifications"
    • Select "UOB Malaysia"
    • Turn on "Notifications"

 

  1. Can I still authenticate transactions if I turn off notifications?
    Yes, you can by launching UOB Mighty App and tapping on Mighty Secure. To generate a One-Time Password, follow the steps detailed in our step-by-step guide above.
  1. Can I use more than one smartphone to register for Mighty Secure?
    You can only register for Mighty Secure using one smartphone. If you register using a new smartphone, Mighty Secure will be deregistered automatically from the old smartphone.

 

  1. What should I do if I lose my smartphone?
    You should call UOB Call Centre at (603) 26128 121 to deregister your Mighty Secure from your lost smartphone. Alternatively, by registering for Mighty Secure in your new smartphone, Mighty Secure will be deregistered automatically from your lost smartphone.

 

  1. Can I still opt to receive SMS-OTP if I have login with Mighty Secure?
    No, you can’t opt to receive SMS-OTP if you have login to your Personal Internet Banking or UOB Mighty session with Mighty Secure. However, you can re-login to a new Personal Internet Banking session and opt to receive SMS-OTP to authenticate your transactions with SMS-OTP.

    You can’t opt to receive SMS-OTP if you login via UOB Mighty on a Mighty Secure registered smartphone.
